'Air' gets a release date

Air, from writer Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead franchise, directed by Christian Cantamessa, and starring The Walking Dead’s unkempt heart-throb Norman Reedus, along with Djimon Hounsou (recently appearing as Korath the Pursuer in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy), is a claustrophobic science fiction thriller set on post-apocalyptic Earth in the near future.

After the air outside has been rendered toxic, humanity’s best and brightest are cryonically frozen and stored in a repurposed missile silo as the best chance for rebuilding civilization when the situation above ground will have improved. Bauer (Norman Reedus) and Cartwright (Djimon Hounsou) are two maintenance workers tasked with looking after the cryo-pods. At first, their job seems to be mundane and uneventful, but as time progresses the two struggle to hold onto their sanity. The film explores what happens when these two men left on their own devices in the isolated underground bunker start to go stir-crazy in their bleak environment.

The science fiction film 'Air' is produced by Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment, and will hit the cinemas on 14th August 2015.
