MCM Comic Con – London, May 2015

London MCM Comic Con (or MCM Expo) is a multi-genre fan convention held in ExCeL, Royal Victoria Dock, London, twice yearly, usually on the last weekend of May and October. The MCM Comic Con is organised by the MCM Expo Group.

The first MCM Comic Con this year marks an exception to this rule as the convention will take place on the penultimate weekend of May, i.e. from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th of May 2015.

The convention mainly focuses on comics, anime, manga, fantasy and sci-fi genres, as well as video games, mainly from the United Kingdom and Japan, but also from other countries from all around the world.

London MCM Comic Con features a large floor space for corporate exhibitors, which include well-known movie studios and TV stations, as well as a separate section for private exhibitors and assorted dealer stalls. There is also a theatre with a large stage equipped with projection monitors and seating for audience of 1000.

The convention is frequently attended by movie and television show stars as well as various memorable industry personalities and celebrities.

The highlights of the May’s Expo will be: Special Guests (see the list below), Photo with the Stars Area, Video Games Expo (with Konami, Bandai Namco, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Koch Media confirmed), ESL eSports (with the dedicated eSports Arena hosting semi-finals and grand finals for both Counter-Strike and League of Legends), Pop Asia (fusion of Japanese, Korean & other Asian cultures), Comic Village (Workshop for Comic Creators and Fans alike), Steampunk, Cosplay & Masquerade (with EuroCosplay Championship Finals), Vidfest UK (an event for fans of online video and web series), Theatre (with previews of upcoming genre-related feature films and television shows), Stalls with Memorabilia and Dealer Stalls.

On the Saturday evening of each London MCM Comic Con is held The MCM Expo Party with a chance to get together, dance, eat and drink (this May’s party is taking place in the Platinum Suite at the ExCel).
