MCM Comic Con (or MCM Expo) is a multi-genre fan convention held annually in several cities across the United Kingdom, with London, Birmingham and Manchester venues being the most attended ones. The MCM Comic Con is organised by the MCM (Movie Comic Media) Expo Group.
The convention mainly focuses on comics, manga, anime, fantasy and sci-fi genres, as well as video games, mainly from the United Kingdom and Japan, but also from other countries from all around the world. The event is frequently attended by movie and television show stars as well as various memorable industry personalities and other celebrities.
After establishing itself as the largest show of its kind in Europe with London MCM Comic Con, and gradually adding new venues throughout the UK (Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow being only some of them) MCM Expo Group listened to the voices of fans, sponsors and exhibitors who have long been asking for a Merseyside show, and announced that this year will see MCM Comic Con come to Liverpool for the very first time, where it will debut on 12-13 March 2016 at Exhibition Centre Liverpool, the brand new, state-of-the-art exhibition centre located on Liverpool’s waterfront.
Liverpool MCM Comic Con will feature a large floor space for corporate exhibitors, which usually include well-known movie studios and TV stations, as well as a separate section for private exhibitors and assorted dealer stalls selling genre-related merchandise and memorabilia.
The highlights of the Liverpool’s Expo will be: Special Guests (see the detailed list below), Photo with the Stars Area, Comic Village (Workshop for Comic Creators and Fans of the Comics Medium alike), Theatre (with previews of upcoming genre-related films and television shows), Cosplay & Masquerade, Stalls with Memorabilia and Dealer Stalls.
In addition, MCM Comic Con Liverpool will be staging an MSM eSports tournament with the dedicated eSports Arena hosting competitions for the newly released Street Fighter V video game in PlayStation 4 version.
Alongside eSports tournament, there will be also a League of Legends free play area available on both days of the event, with peripherals provided by Liverpool MCM Comic Con sponsor Corsair Gaming.
